Around the beginning of each Key Club term, members must pay a fee in order to become an “official” Key Clubber. This is common among high school clubs that are under a larger organization, such as California Scholarship Federation or UNICEF. In Key Club, being a dues-paid member means that your service hours will be legitimately counted, and you will be eligible to attend events, vote in elections, receive recognition, and apply for prestigious awards/scholarships.
